I use high quality Owens Corning fiberglasss shingles with nothing less than a 25-year limited manufacturer warranty. If you upgrade your shingles you pay only the difference in the pricing of the upgrade of shingles. Labor cost remains the same. The shingles are "Properly" nailed in place (above the water line or the nailing line) not stapled.
All bad wood and labor to install the wood is replaced. We will however give you a rough estimate of how much the wood will cost but a factual amount can not be given until the standing shingles are removed. Any replaced fascia board is either painted or wrapped in aluminum. The 15# felt, 30# felt, or fiberglass felt is then properly installed as an underlying construction.
Slate shingles are easily repaired or replaced. I have many slates if you are missing some.
